2010 New Brunswick Medalists
Talented young people from a wide array of disciplines took their place in history recently by being recognized as medalists in the NAACP ACT-SO New Jersey competition. Gold, silver and bronze medalists were announced during the ACT-SO New Jersey 21st annual celebration
Thirty Six students from the ACT-SO New Brunswick program participated in the competition this April. Of those thirty-six students, sixteen placed. Those students and categories are:

- Jalyssa James, Silver Medal, Contemporary Vocal
(Franklin High School)
- Zaire Julion – Gold Medal, Original Essay

- Dante Laughlin – Silver Medal, Oratory,

Gold medalists advanced to the National NAACP ACT-SO competition which was held in Kansas City, MO, in July 2010. Jalyssa James was awarded with a SILVER medal for her performance in the category of Music Vocal Contemporary.
