Who is Eligible to Participate

High school students of minority, who are legal citizens of the United States, and are enrolled in high school (grades 9-12) are eligible to participate.

In addition, students must:

  1. Be an individual who has demonstrated a genuine interest in one of the 26 categories

  2. Submit a separate project, one contestant per category per city (a contestant may enter up to three (3) categories of competition)
     
  3. Be of amateur status, having never performed as a professional in any categories of competition
     
  4. Conform to the guideline requirements as dictated by the categor(ies) chosen
     
  5. Submit an application (written or online) to his/her local ACT-SO chapter

ACT-SO New Brunswick Requirements

  1. Students must attend ACT-SO Workshops, Master Classes and meetings regularly. If you cannot attend a meeting, you must be accountable by informing Mr. Shaun.
     
  2. If a mentor contacts you, you must make every effort to contact them back as soon as you are able to.
     
  3. If you can no longer participate in program, please inform Mr. Shaun immediately.
     
  4. School work comes first..before your project and before ACT-SO meetings! So if your grades are slipping, please let us know.
     
  5. Students promise to give their very best and to dedicate time regularly to working on their projects.
